Case study · Executive coaching · Bilingual Drupal site
A consulting website rebuilt: 100/100 in accessibility, best practices and SEO.
Dr Markus C. Hasel advises executives and HR leaders. His website, built on an old Drupal theme, no longer reflected his expertise or his rigour. We rebuilt it from scratch, in English and German, from his own texts. He approved the publication of this case study.

The problem
The site ran on Drupal 11.3.9 with a Zuvi theme: cluttered navigation, widely spaced headings, a confusing structure and inherited legacy URLs. An HR decision-maker arriving from Google could not see within a few seconds what Markus Hasel offers.
The challenge was not producing content, which already existed, but putting it back in order without losing anything: two languages, service pages, research articles and URLs that other sites link to.
What we built
A custom Drupal theme
The site moves to Drupal 11.4.8 with a theme written for it: a clear home page, short navigation and a visible call to action. No external fonts, no analytics scripts.
Bilingual, from his own texts
Markus Hasel’s English and German content was carried over, reworked and harmonised, with American spelling for English. Every service page exists in both languages, with its language tags.
New pages
An advisory offer on leadership and artificial intelligence, plus articles on leadership in times of crisis, published in English and German. Everything is listed in a 34-URL sitemap.
Old URLs redirected
The 22 verified legacy routes lead to the right page, so existing links keep working. Content remains editable in Drupal, with revision history.

The result
Lighthouse measurements on mobile, taken on October 1, 2026, give 100/100 in accessibility, best practices and SEO on the pages measured, and 94 to 100 in performance. The main content displays in 0.8 to 1.4 seconds.
The site is live at mchasel-consulting.com, in English and German, with no third-party trackers.
Lighthouse lab results on four pages (home and coaching, each in English and German): these are neither field data nor an accessibility certification. No Google ranking is claimed.
